New Zealanders - This Is An Urgent Call For Prayer
Labour MP Maryan Street is proposing a private members bill to legalize euthanasia. Don’t we already have more than enough laws normalizing immoral, ungodly activity in our nation?
I agree with Spurgeon who said, “Let us believe and pray. If God does not hear us it will be the first time He has broken His promise!”
Here is Nelson Tasman Network of Churches press release adding their support to the Salvation Army and Inter-Church Bioethics Council (Combined Anglicans Methodists and Presbyterians) opposition to Maryan Street’s euthanasia bill.
“This bill will further enhance the ‘culture of death’ in our society,” they stated. “We already have a disturbingly high suicide rate, especially amongst teenagers. We really want to promote a culture of life, not a culture of death. Legalized euthanasia will reinforce the attitude that taking your own life is a viable answer to life’s problems. Surely we can celebrate life as a society; champion endurance, perseverance and overcoming hardships, no matter how trying they may be. This is the stuff of maturity and the making of champions.”
Let us pray and... let us add our voice to New Zealand’s airwaves and promote life and godliness.
“The path into the Promised Land is hard because the Lord intended it to be hard. What we are called to inherit is not cheap and those that inherit it will be those who value it enough to fight for it.”
